This year at Magento Live EU 2019- Amsterdam gave a stage to CedCommerce’s Head-On shopping App. It all happened during the Magento Innovations Lab Showcase where Magento Shopping Features and other eCommerce innovations are given a stage.
Mr. Abhishek Jaiswal, Co-Founder, and Director of CedCommerce purchased a treat with just a few nods and stares within a few seconds right in the middle of his Keynote Speech at the Event.
It happened with a technology that originated when Mr. Abhishek’s Altruistic Vision of helping the gifted part of our community found life with his sagacious mind.
What is Head-On Shopping?
Head-On shopping is a Magento Shopping Feature that exploits iPhone X’s neural engine and AR kit to execute a tremendously advanced Machine Learning Algorithm that powers extraordinary Facial Recognition. It is enabled through iPhone X’s Front Facing Camera with 3D sensors and is ready to change the way we do things online.

- Sensitive detection of the smallest change in the input
- An acute awareness of the distinctions between numerous head movements that align closely with natural expressions corresponding to those actions.
Head-On Shopping app executes an algorithm with the help of Augmented Reality Kit, which plots a location on the screen through 3D Mapping in real time with the response to head movement read through the camera.
It registers different actions such as nodding of the head or moving it left and right and helps the user navigate through the Store, select a particular item, place it in the cart and purchase it with just a stare.
What Prompted Head-On Shopping?
Although the slogan of Head-On shopping states,
Head-On shopping endeavors to work for a more significant cause. It aims to help specially-abled people in society who might find it difficult to hold and use a cellphone. Armed with Head-On Shopping Feature, now they can much easily navigate different online stores from the comfort of their homes.
Even if that is not the case, people can now shop while driving. Or while sitting in the bathtubs relaxing at the end of a hard day. Either that or it can help the busy moms with hands stuck in cookie dough, who want to order a few eggs quickly.
With a technology like this, the horizons are as limited as the sky. And Magento Live EU 2019 provided a prestigious stage to such eCommerce innovations.
Where all of this is heading on?
The future holds possibilities of some added features and bringing more to the society. Right now, CedCommerce is looking into bringing a few more features; hence will be keeping it free and open source. Meanwhile, the wishlist contains a few ideas:
- Voice-enabled filling of forms to set up an account, payment options, or maybe enter a voucher code.
- Actions in response to blinks in addition to, or in replacement to long stares
