Pleasing the eCommerce sellers, Amazon announces its launch in Singapore. Thus, making Singapore, its first choice in South-East Asia. Gaining popularity as “Amazon sg”, the marketplace has launched itself in the country with a wider range of products, unlike the 2017 scenario. Back then, it had launched its Prime Membership Programme offering its fast delivery service through a mobile app.
Amazon has stepped into the SEA Market with approximately 500 third-party Marketplace sellers, In other words, they will sell on Amazon Singapore (Source: Marketplace Pulse Research).

Breaking the boundaries, Amazon Singapore will enable sellers to sell in multiple categories rather than just being focused on groceries & household essentials, as that was the case in 2017.
As per Amazon, this initiative is to cater to all the sections of Amazon shoppers, be it, Member of Prime Membership Programme or not. Amazon said that Amazon Singapore will not only feature big brands but also small and medium-sized businesses.

The Prime Members in Singapore will still have Prime Now, the free two-hour delivery service for orders more than $40. Amazon.sg also ensures free international shipping for eligible orders over $60 from the Amazon International Store. The Prime Members will also get free one-day delivery with no minimum spend on local eligible items.
Amazon Prime Membership costs $2.99 a month.
