The covid 19 pandemic is transforming the way we are working, shopping, communicating or travelling . The covid 19 pandemic has affected virtually every aspect of our lives. Some developments have been involuntary and sudden, like wearing masks, social distancing , travel restriction, contactless shopping etc. With increase in the advancement in technology and rise in the contact less shopping trend, mobile consumer behavior has also changed a lot.
While most industries like real estate, hospitality and travel are facing the bad effects of the pandemic. Numerous other industries like healthcare, educational, entertainment and remote work apps observe it as a good business opportunity. Pandemic have changed the mobile consumer behavior upto much extent. During the covid 19 pandemic, these mobile apps have made our daily tasks much easier under the lockdown. Grocery apps, digital payment apps, and On-demand apps have skyrocketed during the lockdown as no one is allowed to move outside their place.
No industry could escape from the consequences of the covid 19 pandemic. While institutions and colleges were closed during the pandemic, students were hit hard as their education was disrupted. The pandemic has wholly changed the education system as current generation students have grown up in a digitalized and globalized world. Institutions around the world are dependent on digital platforms and using digital ways to educate students.
During the first week of a nationwide lockdown, a survey states that mobile educational apps have witnessed a massive spike in usage due to the pandemic compared to the week preceding the survey. While online education is booming, distance learning solutions and learning management system is getting more popular among the students to gain knowledge anywhere, anytime. Apps like google classroom, zoom, Coursera, LinkedIn learning, iSpring Learn etc., have soared high as they offer students a seamless and uninterrupted education.
Entertainment is something that keeps us engaged and keeps us out of unnecessary stress and tension. Now, especially after the covid outbreak, more people are becoming habitual of social media apps like Instagram, Snapchat, etc. Also, people are addicted to web series and entertainment channels like Amazon Prime, Netflix, youtube, HBO, Spotify, etc. Social media apps like Instagram, WhatsApp, Pinterest, Reddit, Twitter have witnessed sudden growth like never before. Social media apps and news apps like Facebook and Twitter have kept each of us updated with the latest news and happenings worldwide. Entertainment apps have become an essential part of our lives. Spending a single day without these apps has become impossible for us.
A few years back, before the covid outbreak, no one thought of remote work culture, but now it is recognized as the primary work culture for each of us. Organizations have now embraced a flexible workplace reality to witness a zero latency and responsive transition while working from home. The remote work app category has risen surprisingly well.
Mobile apps related to web conferencing, video conferencing, group chats, and prompt messaging helped professionals accomplish tasks efficiently and conveniently. Some of the most popular remote work apps incorporate skype, slack, zoom, dropbox, Evernote, pocket, and Microsoft teams. Organizations worldwide rely on these to keep ongoing communication trying and intact to accept these new workplace realities. Work from home has become much efficient and seamless with the help of these remote apps. These apps let the employees conduct meetings, share docs, videos, audios, files, etc without any hassle.
