Walmart Embraces Amazon MCF: A New Era of Cross-Platform Fulfillment for eCommerce
Starting February 4, 2025, eBay UK will implement a new Buyer Protection program aimed at enhancing transaction security and buyer confidence. This update introduces a Buyer Protection fee for purchases from private sellers, while business sellers continue under the existing fee structure. With 24/7 customer support and secure transactions through trusted payment partners, the update highlights eBay’s commitment to a better user experience.
By drawing a clear line between private and business sellers, eBay seems to be encouraging high-volume private sellers to embrace business accounts, paving the way for a more professional and transparent marketplace.
Business sellers will continue operating under the current fee structure, with no extra Buyer Protection fees for their listings. They will maintain access to promotional tools, including Coupons and Multi-Buy Discounts, available exclusively to business accounts. Furthermore, these promotional tools will become exclusive to business accounts starting January 20, 2025. Payouts will remain prompt, typically processed within one day of confirming the buyer’s payment.
Private sellers will see the Buyer Protection fee automatically included in their item prices visible to buyers. This may affect the competitiveness of their listings. Additionally, funds from sales will be released two days after delivery confirmation. This encourages timely shipping and provides buyers with an added layer of security.
