eBay has temporarily paused international sales from the United States to several Middle East destinations, citing widespread shipping disruptions tied to the current regional conflict. In its March 3, 2026 announcement, eBay said most major U.S. carriers are experiencing service interruptions in the region, and that it cannot reliably ensure packages will reach buyers’ final delivery addresses.

Countries impacted

The pause applies to buyers with shipping addresses in Israel, Bahrain, the UAE, Iraq, Kuwait, Oman, Lebanon, and Jordan.

What eBay is doing to protect sellers

eBay knows sellers are worried about orders already shipped, and it’s offering automatic performance protections to reduce account health risk during the disruption. According to eBay, sellers will receive protections covering:

  • Late shipment rate
  • “Item not received” (INR) cases caused by late delivery (as long as tracking was uploaded before the case opened and there’s a carrier scan)
  • Service metrics for open INR (items not received) cases
  • Negative and neutral feedback protections

There’s also an important note for sellers using eBay International Shipping: once eBay receives your item at its domestic shipping hub, you’re automatically protected for the international leg.

That said, protections don’t eliminate operational pain. Sellers may still face buyer messages, delays in cash flows, and workload from cancellations or rerouting inventory.

Why this is happening now (and why it’s bigger than eBay)

This isn’t a platform-only decision. Carriers are actively updating service availability across the region.

  • USPS updated its international service alerts on March 3, 2026, noting suspensions for certain destinations due to transportation/service disruptions.
  • Logistics reporting also indicates ongoing disruption across air and ocean freight routes, which can extend transit times and reduce capacity across multiple carrier networks.

Bottom line: even if a seller tries to switch carriers, the underlying logistics instability may still create unpredictable delivery outcomes.

What this means for sellers (practical impact)

1) You may lose sales in high-demand categories

Sellers who typically ship to the Gulf region and surrounding markets – electronics, auto parts, collectibles, luxury accessories – may see immediate revenue drops from those destinations.

2) Order management gets messy fast

If you haven’t shipped impacted orders yet, you could be forced into cancellations and refunds, plus buyer communication and relisting work. That’s time-consuming and risky if you’re handling high volume.

3) Tracking discipline matters more than ever

eBay’s INR (items not received) protections depend on tracking being uploaded before a case opens and having a physical scan. If your carrier service doesn’t scan reliably, you’re exposed.
