Well, Amazon Prime Day 2019 sale this time gave the Prime members a few relieving surprises, like the extended 12 hours for the sale and a lot many exciting deals(as usual).

Yes, one factor for this massive success of the sale can be 48 hours of the sale but, this is not the first time the Amazon Prime Day sale has broken its own records. Looking at the numbers, Prime Day sales have been making a great 17.4% YoY growth in the number of daily buyers and a remarkable 18% YoY growth in successful transactions.

What were the best sellers this Amazon Prime Day 2019?
In research done with 1000 prime day members, when asked the plan for their shopping on Amazon Prime Day 2019, the following came out to be the results-
- More than 70% of the Prime Members opted to buy Electronics
- A huge 58% voted for shopping fashion and accessories(Apparels)

Were sold during the 48 hours mega sale event of Amazon Prime Day 2019.
No doubt, the electronics category ruled the show during the Prime Day sale!
More than 3.5 million Amazon Smart Plugs were purchased. The numbers this year represent a huge 70% Conversion Rate in the purchases as compared to 2018’s Prime Day sale.
Notably, Amazon Plug allows Alexa to control the home lights and also to control the coffee maker!
Summing up!
Amazon Prime Day 2019 was a success and it has kept it promising sales chart high this year too. However the other market giants like eBay, Walmart and a few more tried to counter the Prime Day 2019 by starting up crash sales, Amazon managed to overcome all the obstacles and has managed to gain huge traffic on its Prime Day website.
The search index for Amazon surged high to 184% in the starting 24 hours as compared to the whole 48 hours of the sale. On the other hand, the rest big marketplaces like eBay and Walmart accounted for a search index of 72% and 130% respectively.
It is for sure that the Amazon Prime Day sale is getting bigger and bigger each year and its potential is par to the level of expectations. Starting to sell on Amazon seems like a good idea for the 2020 and the years to come!
