Starting November 4th, TikTok Shop will implement two important policy updates: the TikTok Shop Customer Order Shipping Policy and the Seller Performance Evaluation Policy. Here’s what you need to know:
TikTok Shop Policy Update – Seller Performance
This update focuses on simplifying how TikTok evaluates Seller Performance. The new policy aims to provide clearer guidelines on the metrics used to assess performance and how enforcement actions may be taken in case of violations of TikTok Shop Terms and Policies. This change is minor and is unlikely to have a significant impact on most sellers, but it aims to ensure transparency and clarity.
TikTok Shop Policy Update – Shipping
You can find the detailed policies here:
- TikTok Shop Seller Performance Evaluation Policy
- TikTok Shop Customer Order Shipping Guidelines for Sellers
Changes to Shipping Timeframes:
TikTok is updating the criteria for measuring the Late Dispatch Rate (LDR). Instead of basing the LDR on the Transit to Ship (TTS) status, it will now be determined by when the seller completes the Ready to Ship (RTS) status. Sellers must move orders to the RTS status (also known as “To Ship-Awaiting Collection”) within 2 working days of order creation. This change aims to eliminate delays caused by courier handover issues that previously affected the LDR metric.
Required Seller Actions:
The updated policy contains the detailed guidelines for sellers in Sections 5.1 to 5.6. Here’s a summary of the key steps and timeframes:
- Confirm the order, pack it, and create a shipping label. Sellers must move the order to the RTS status within 2 working days after receiving it.
- Hand the package to the carrier. The package should transition from Awaiting Collection to In Transit (TTS status) within 3 working days. Orders not handed over to the carrier within 7 working days will be automatically canceled.
- Monitor package progress until delivery. Sellers should track the package’s progress to ensure it gets delivered by the carrier’s estimated delivery date.
Valid Tracking Numbers
For orders shipped using the Ship by Seller option, TikTok will now monitor the validity of tracking numbers (VTR). Sellers can track their VTR performance through the Seller Centre and receive feedback to improve their shipping practices.
