Smarter Pricing to Secure the Featured Offer: How CedCommerce Is Automating Price Competitiveness for Amazon Sellers

Walmart is set to revamp its Pro Seller Program at the end of September 2025, introducing updated criteria for sellers aiming to boost their visibility and access exclusive discounts. The changes focus primarily on the Price Competitiveness Score and the requirements for qualifying for Pro Listings discounts. This update serves as a crucial reminder for sellers to proactively adapt their strategies to maintain their standing and maximize profitability on the Walmart Marketplace.
The most significant change lies in the tiered approach to the Price Competitiveness Score. Previously a single threshold, the score now requires sellers to meet escalating benchmarks:
Compare this year’s Pro Seller Program updates with last year’s Pro Seller Program updates.
This means simply being competitively priced is no longer enough to achieve the highest tier. Sellers must consistently offer competitive pricing across their product catalog to climb the ranks. The higher your score, the greater the visibility and potential rewards within the program.
Another key adjustment impacts the qualifications for Pro Listings discounts. While competitive pricing was previously sufficient, the September 2025 update now mandates that items must combine competitive pricing with either Free Two-Day delivery or faster shipping. This emphasizes Walmart’s commitment to providing customers with fast, reliable shipping experiences.
This update will place additional pressure on sellers to optimize their pricing and shipping strategies. Sellers who fail to meet the new thresholds risk losing access to valuable Pro Seller benefits, which can negatively affect their sales performance.
